You won't get thirsty. The water of Lake Wanaka is so pure you can drink it whilst swimming.
No need for filters, no chlorination or ozone treatment. Nothing. Pure New Zealand Water from the Source.

Categories & Age Groups
There are two categories. 'Open' (The Ruby only) and 'Age Group'.
Winners in each Age group will be awarded 1st, 2nd 3rd; Male & Female.
The Ruby Open - Prize Money
10% of entry fees will go directly to The Ruby Open category prize purse. If sufficient sponsorship transpires, we will offer a larger tidy sum of cash split equally male / female.

Race Timing
Every competitor will have a timing tag for accurate swim time recording. Issued at registeration on event day.
Weather Day
If it goes horribly wrong on the Saturday and the master plan goes astray, we have a weather alternative day on Sunday morning 29th January 2017.
Learn to Swim Donation
We are donating $1 from every person that enters the event expressly for Learn To Swim programmes here in the Southern Lakes District as part of the eVentGift.org initiative.
