'The Ruby' series of swims incorporate distances from 10km to 200m. Each event is more than just a race. It's about taking in and enjoying everything the water and surroundings, above and below the line, has to offer. All the swims start and finish at Waterfall Creek either side of the rocky outcrop which forms the perfect natural Start / Finish beach area. The lake bed drops away quickly from here with it being covered in large, and it must be said, rather painful stones, so beware. Registration and admin will be in tents under the two large willows just back from the lake edge. There will be changing tents here too.
Event Day - Saturday 26th January 2019
New for 2019
• As previously there is NO On-The-Day registration (except for the 200m Little Gems). In addition:
• Due to the expected number of entrants increasing we need to have final numbers locked in a day earlier than previous years.
• Registration by internet closes Thursday 24th January 7pm.
• The Friday afternoon, the 25th, at Kai Café is for cap and transponder pick up only. No entry on the Friday is available.
• Transponder and cap pick up on the Friday at Kai is to help minimise the transponder pickup queue on race day.
• We will be giving out spot prizes on the Friday afternoon as well as at prizegiving, again to shorten the time frames at the finish.

Race Start Zone
We will have 50 or more swimmers taking part in the Ruby10, our 10km swim. The Start Zone worked well in 2018. We will be moving the 'Separation Buoy' further across for 2019
In addition, to register actual swimmers in the lake, every swimmer will have to enter the Start Zone through a gate where we will check cap, swimmer number and that you are wearing a timing chip. We then count and double cross check timing chips upon swim completion.
